Dear Ginetta owners club, I am now selling my Ginetta G15 (1973) chassi no 0649 which ive inherited from my father. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time or knowledge to make it worth keeping. He bought the car in 1986 and it has over the years been restored to about 80%. The car has some racing history. Two photos from the Ginetta G15 Profile Book by John Rose, page 19 and 20 are enclosed. The first photo shows the car marked Bill Hunt who was the entrant and also the person from whom my father bought the car. In this photo the car is identified with number 11B. This is from 1981 when there were a team of G15s who won the class A (up to 1600cc) in the Silverstone Six-Hour Relay. The 11B is here driven by Bill Hunt. The second photo shows the car in 1984 BRSCC Production Sports Car Champion, Class D, 3rd overall. Here the car is driven by Tim Read for entrant Bill Hunt. Tim Read recorded five class wins and three lap records. Immediately behind Read, in second place, and only one point adrift, was another G15 driven by Reg Dixon. The car started as a road car but was converted to race car in the late seventies. It has a full race Carter engine and close ratio gear box. The car is located in Mantorp, Sweden. The time has come to sell my Ginetta G27 which I have owned for some years now. The car has been fully restored with the chassis being powder coated and everything rebuilt about 3 or 4 years ago. It has been in its own air-conditioned bubble ever since and has only been used a handful of times. Will have a new MOT very soon. Please get in touch if interested as there are so many things to mention, it would be easier to discuss with potential buyers. I have so many other projects that I need to finish and just don't get the time to use the car. I would rather someone else got the pleasure of using it rather than keep storing it away. Having just aquired a much modified G32 which I would like to go Hill Climbing with, is there anybody out there could give me some advice about the fitting of a roll cage. I intend to get it professionally made but I am interested in anybody else who has done this and can give me some pointers.
