Model - G21
Appearance - Front-engined G15 replacement 2 seater sports
Power plant - 1600 Ford Crossflow
Further details - During the initial development of the 3-Litre Bob Walklett pushed his brothers to broaden the market appeal of the model by making a version with a smaller capacity engine. As a result a further prototype was put together for launch alongside the 3-Litre car. This was fitted with a Ford 1600cc Crossflow engine but otherwise enjoyed all of the equipment fitted to the 3-Litre except the rear axle which on the 1600 was a live axle on trailing arms, Panhard rod and coil spring dampers. Due to the smaller engine and axle arrangement this version was significantly less expensive than the its bigger brother at £1395 in component form, £1849 fully assembled tax paid.
The 1600cc car was put on the road for testing early in 1971 but by this time the company was thinking of installing an 1800cc Sunbeam engine in place of the Ford unit and as a result the 1600cc G21 became a one off.
