The G50 was the first new car to emerge after the Lawrence Tomlinson acquisition of Ginetta Cars. Designed by Brazilian, Marcos Lameirao, the car features identical components on each corner, making it simpler to carry spares for!
Ginetta G50 GT4
Constructed from: 2007, the cars have Ford v6 Duratec/Cyclone engines of 3.50l, producing 300 bhp.
Compete in the GT Championships running to GT-4 regs
Initially these cars ran without a rear wing, later cars had a rear wing. The G50 GT4 was undefeated in the British GT Championship in 2009, also winning the GT4 European Cup in the same year.
Ginetta G50Z GT3
Constructed from: 2009, the cars have Zytec v8 ZJ458 engines of 4.50l, producing 635-700 bhp.
Compete in the British GT Championship (2009) initially running in the Invitation Class, but to GT-3 regs
Originally planned as a GT3 car, the development was handed over to privateer teams as, initially, the engine proved somewhat problematic.
Ginetta G50 EV
Constructed from: 2009, the cars have Electric motors, producing 121 bhp.
This prototype was built in conjunction with Zytec, the EV was driven through the Channel Tunnel by John Surtees in 2009, thus far, this is the only road vehicle to have done so on its own power.
